Working Together
What to expect when working with an
eCommerce email strategist and copywriter
Let’s make your email project run smoothly.
In the end we’ll have some killer emails that will WOW your customers.
“I didn’t expect a copywriter to ask me THAT” – a client in 2020
(I’d asked when in the sales process their customer would read the information we were writing)
I’ll ask you LOTS of questions about your business and your customers.
This is a critical time for me to get to know all about your business,
what makes your customers tick, and how your products solve their problems.
Working with Zoe, and Get Heard, has been a pleasure. It is very difficult to find an external partner that quickly understands your brand, finds your tone of voice and on top of this is able to inject creative direction to further enhance your messaging.
Given our small business size it has been great to have a partner that can save us a large amount of time and effort as well as adding a key area of expertise that we don’t have in-house. What used to drain a lot of internal resources is now incredibly efficient.
Finally, the investment in Get Heard has seen a significant amount of growth in terms of sales as we are able to zero in on segments that we haven’t been able to reach previously.
If you’re struggling with consistently creating great content and reaching your ideal markets then I would highly recommend Get Heard to amplify your marketing reach.
I run two financial services businesses. I am time poor and need to reply on professionals like Zoe to deliver. I had been through two copywriters prior to being introduced to Zoe. She is a breath of fresh air. At times, working with other copywriters felt like going to the dentist. I will be using her again. Professionalism, attention to detail and her attitude stood out to me. I can give her an inch and I know the mile that she writes will be amazing. The amazing thing is she will probably email me and tell me all the grammatical flaws with my review. Love it!
Working with Zoe was extremely easy. Her attention to detail and diligence at the commencement of our project meant that Zoe had a really firm understanding of my business objectives, target market and project outcomes.
Being outside of my business meant Zoe brought a fresh and objective approach to the product descriptions, and also made some great recommendations for approaches I hadn’t yet thought of.
The project was delivered on time, on brief and on brand. I am starting to see the sales results of the work Zoe has delivered for me, and I will certainly be engaging her skills again in the future.
Intelligent, articulate and super professional, Zoe is a rare gem who I really enjoy working with.
OMG you’re incredible!!! I honestly LOVE my about page!! Almost cried. You’ve totally hit the nail on the head!
I LOVE that it is all about the client but somehow you’ve managed to toot my horn wonderfully too. You are AMAZING!!!
Zoe’s attention to detail and organisational skills are second to none.
Working with an Email Strategist and Copywriter
Here’s how the process usually runs.
1: Initial consultation
We’ll talk via Zoom and discuss what your project is; email sequence audit/analysis or lifecycle email strategy and copywriting.
I’ll give you an approximate figure for the cost of your project package, and let you know when I can start.
I’ll send you a briefing document to complete. It includes lots of “getting to know you” questions about your business, products, customers and goals.
A proposal that includes a detailed quote will follow, listing any options we’ve discussed.
2: Commencement fee
If you’re happy with the proposal, I’ll send you an invoice for 50% of the project fee for projects over $1500.
Audits, VIP Days and any projects under AUD$1500 are to be paid in full in advance.
My payment terms are 7 days. Once the invoice has been paid, I can get started on your copywriting project.
3: Research and Writing
This is when I get stuck into the work. I’ll find out all I need to know about your business, industry and competitors. This ensures that the copy speaks to the right customers in a way that convinces them to buy from your business.
I will write the first draft of your copy, and send it to you for comments. The copy will be presented in an easy to use copy deck, which shows you how the layout, headings and spacing will look. This format makes the copy easy to read, and easy to sign off.
4: Revisions
You will have one or two rounds of changes, depending on the type of project.
The last step is a full proofread to ensure that your copy looks professional.
5: Sign off and testimonial
I will send you the final version of your copy, along with a project sign-off form. I’ll request a testimonial from you; this is your chance to review my service.
The invoice for the final 50% will be sent at project sign off, or one week after I send your first version, whichever happens first.
Billing
Payment terms are 7 days. Please note that I am not able to start working on a project until the first invoice has been paid in full.
Changes in scope. Projects sometimes change and evolve as the process is happening. I will discuss any additional costs if extra elements are requested during the copywriting and editing process.
Well, that was a lot of information, wasn’t it?
